Rev. William Collins is the Pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church Hammond, Indiana for 17 plus years.
Pastor Collins is a dynamic expositor Preacher—Teacher—He has excellent achievements in the Christian Education Ministries.
He is an excellent Educator/Instructor in the area of Homiletics, Hermeneutics, and Christian Pedagogy.
Pastor Collins is an Alumni of Moody Bible Institute* He has an extensive background in Bible Theology—Advance Church Ministries—Administration and Leadership Development. He is the past Moderator of the New Era District Associate and past President of the Hammond Ministerial Alliance. Pastor Collins Former President of Moderator’s Council for the Progressive National Baptist Convention. He is the President of the Midwest Region (PNBC) Moderator’s Department. Pastor Collins was a former Member of the Board of Directors ABC College, of Nashville, Tennessee. He received the Rev. Dr. A. R. Burns-Rev. Dr. Vincent McClutchen Lifetime Social Justice Award, Northwest Indiana Federation.
Pastor Collins has served on the Board of Directors for Blue Skies Hospice of Hammond. He has organized an Outreach Ministry to the Community of Hammond and Northwest Indiana. The Mt. Zion Education Outreach Ministry which is designed for tutoring classes, on family nurturing through a program of counseling fathers and/or parents on child rearing. Pastor Collins participates in many civic functions and activities throughout the Community.
Pastor Collins is married to Rose Collins who is very active in Church also. Their enthusiastic approach to the Ministries of the Church inspires the Congregation to reach new levels and challenges for spiritual growth.
Pastor Collins leadership and vision has brought many new opportunities and challenges to Mt. Zion in reaching out to help in the Community via Mission and Evangelism.
